What you need to know

Confirmation is the time when youth are provided space to learn about the history of Methodism, what it means to be a United Methodist and to learn about UUMC. The lessons provide information as well as safe space for youth to bring their curious questions and explore their own faith convictions. There are opportunities for relationship building with other youth as well as adult confirmation mentors. Confirmation begins with the Confirmation Retreat and meets throughout the year culminating on Confirmation Sunday. During the course of the year youth will be engaged in the lessons, exploring their faith and having fun together. Closer to May, the youth will begin considering whether they are ready to join the church on Confirmation Sunday.

While it is exciting to see youth being confirmed, it is each youth’s personal choice. As we say every Sunday in our worship services, we believe that whoever you are and wherever you are on your faith journey or life journey you are welcome.

We are creating our own confirmation curriculum incorporating our beliefs and leaning on the amazing leaders in our church.

Any youth 8th grade or older is welcome! We plan to offer confirmation every other year. So if your youth doesn't feel ready now, they can always join us next time!

We'll meet on alternating 4th Sunday After Church & 3rd Sunday during Sunday School in addition to 2 two-day retreats. Scroll down for the full calendar!
