Queer

Fellowship

An RMN member since 2011, UUMC has been a welcoming church for members of the LGBTQ community. However, while we’ve been a safe space, we recognize the importance of creating spaces specifically for Queer and trans community members to come together. So we founded a queer council.

Our Queer Council is a group of Queer members of UUMC. We create safe fellowship spaces for Queer and trans people at our church, offer allyship training to our straight and cis allies, and contribute to the planning of Queer focused worship services and events including UUMC's annual presence in the Pride Parade.

Queer Fellowship

We create spaces open to all LGBTQIA+ and questioning members (and friends!) of UUMC.

We gather quarterly to share joys and concerns with one another, and just be in community together. Keep reading to find out what we’ve got planned. We’d love to see you there!

Ally Education

We have a team that feels passionately about education opportunities for straight or cis-gendered people to become better allies.

In previous years, the UUMC Queer Council has lead church-wide Ally Trainings on topics like pronouns and identity.

What about the
Austin Pride Parade?

UUMC has an annual presence in the Austin Pride Parade. We participate to support and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community across Austin.
