Featured Events An Evening with Diana Butler Bass | September 23 We’re so excited to welcome Diana Butler Bass to UUMC on September 23rd. She’ll share a presentation, “Awakening or Apocalypse: Reimagining the Times in Which We Live,” followed by a Q&A and book signing. Copies of her books, “Grateful” and “Freeing Jesus” will be available for purchase at the event. Diana Butler Bass, Ph.D., is an award-winning author, popular speaker, inspiring preacher, and one of America’s most trusted commentators on religion and contemporary spirituality. Learn More Family Sunday | This Sunday We invite all the families of UUMC to join together in community every third Sunday of the month for Family Sunday! We’re kicking off this new initiative with a Wesley Choir performance, presenting 2nd grade Bibles, and Modern Family during the Sunday School hour! Learn More Worship | Sunday  @ 11:00 am Online or In-Person Join us for worship Sunday, September 17. We conclude our sermon series centered on “The 3 B’s” of Believing, Behaving and Belonging with a focus on what it means to belong. We will celebrate Family Sunday as our 2nd graders receive their Bibles and Pastor Teresa’s sermon text is Luke’s telling of a time from Jesus’ childhood. At the 11am Sanctuary Service our children will be leading us in worship and our youth will share a creative statement on faith. We will also hear from our Interim Youth Coordinator Natasha Ulack and Children’s Director Jillian Moore. “True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.”  ― Brené Brown, Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone News 30 Days of AntiRacism The Racial Justice Ministry invites everyone to participate in the General Commission on Religion and Race's (GCORR) 30 Days of Antiracism in September. Each day we will engage in an activity that helps us to become more antiracist in the ways we think and act. GCORR invites you to share your progress with a picture or a reflection using #30daysofAntiracism. You can find the activities on their calendar. The Voucher debate intersects with many other justice issues - as they disproportionately harm BIPOC and queer children as well as those in rural areas.  If you’d like to learn more or attend the rally, visit their website for details.
