Hello all parents and families of UUMC!
What an exciting note I get to write to you all! Firstly, thank you for the warm welcomes and congratulations! I am looking forward with a full heart to all the fun, memories, and challenges that we will encounter together. Secondly, I want to offer my most sincere gratitude to our beloved Pastor Heather for serving this program for so many years. May I walk in her footsteps with grace. I know that the UUMC Children’s ministries will continue in her spirit of kindness and community.
For those of you who may not know me, hi! My name is Jillian Moore and I’m your new Director of Children’s Ministries. I have worked at UUMC since 2016 in different capacities and have been taught by so many wonderful folks from this congregation. For this, I feel very loyal to our values as a church. I’ve been a 2nd grade teacher for the last two years and am eager to lend my (renewed) energy to you and your children.
I’m a believer in noticing the beauty and adventure in small moments, finding rest in our communities, being stewards of our Earth and the people we encounter, and teaching our children how to do the same.
I pray that these are some of the values that I embody while in this role; and I cannot wait to hear about all the things on your hearts as we settle into this new dynamic. I am here for you- parents and children- and invite you to reach out to me when you need me.
I am so looking forward to chatting with each of you! A great place to do that is at our Back to School Kick-Off this Sunday, August 13th at 10am. More information below. Then we will bless the backpacks during service and will have a yummy cold treat waiting in the courtyard!
