Dear Parents, It’s been so wonderful seeing you all as I’ve gotten settled in! There’s lots to catch up on as we have many new opportunities in Children’s Ministry. There have been a few date changes, so please check out what’s different :) One exciting change that I want to highlight is that we’re starting Family Sunday every third Sunday of the month. Something I want to acknowledge is that we understand it can be a challenge to get your family out the door on Sunday mornings. The intended purpose of Family Sunday is to prevent missed connections week to week and encounter your community in a more meaningful way. Our first Family Sunday will be September 17th! Children and Family programming will continue to be a vital part of every Sunday morning and I am always happy to see your faces. We’ll meet in the Fellowship Hall to catch up and eat lunch (please bring your own lunch). Then, we’ll team up with MYF and head over to one of the coolest backyards in Austin to swim and stay cool. Pick up at the church at 2:30. Please remember to bring swimsuit, towel and sunscreen! Learn More Parent’s Night Out 9/15, 5pm-8:30pm Drop your kiddos off with Jillian and UUMC Childcare employees for an evening of fun and games! Please note, I’m going off-script, this is a Friday! Click here to Register Parent’s Happy Hour 9/15, 5pm-8:30pm Join Chad and other UUMC parents for happy hour and swimming! Drop your kiddos off at PNP, then join him in his backyard pool and pub. Learn More Family Sunday 9/17 @ 11am Come see your awesome UUMC community every third Sunday of the month for Family Sunday! We're kicking off this new initiative with a Wesley Choir performance, presenting 2nd grade bibles, and Modern Family at 10 am in room 313. Nourish and regular children’s Sunday School will continue as usual! Tween Time   9/24 @ 12-2:30 Tweens! Join Jillian in the Fellowship Hall to eat and check-in. Then, we'll meet up with the Youth before heading out together for a Methodist scavenger hunt around Austin, learning all about our Methodist community! We’ll end our scavenger hunt back at UUMC for parent pick-up. Learn More Important news coming from the Youth Newsletter reads: “Our search for an exceptional Youth Director to succeed Sydney is continuing.  We are so grateful for those members of the congregation who have stepped in this summer to support our youth program with Teresa and Megan.  Pastor Teresa, along with UUMC staff and Staff Parish Relations Committee, is excited to let you know that Natasha Ulack has also agreed to join in and help lead the youth program while we continue the search for a permanent youth ministry director. Many of you will remember Natasha from her time on staff and the creativity and positive energy she brought to our Children’s Ministry. We know she will bring those same gifts to our youth as she helps coordinate coverage of Sunday School and MYF. She and Jillian Moore, our Children’s Director, are already working together on some fun and enriching upcoming programming, including a pool party at Rev.
