Youth Programming Update

Our search for an exceptional Youth Director to succeed Sydney is continuing.  We are so grateful for those members of the congregation who have stepped in this summer to support our youth program with Teresa and Megan.

Pastor Teresa, along with UUMC staff and Staff Parish Relations Committee, is excited to let you know that Natasha Ulack has also agreed to join in and help lead the youth program while we continue the search for a permanent youth ministry director. Many of you will remember Natasha from her time on staff and the creativity and positive energy she brought to our Children’s Ministry. We know she will bring those same gifts to our youth as she helps coordinate coverage of Sunday School and MYF.

She and Jillian Moore, our Children’s Director, are already working together on some fun and enriching upcoming programming, including a pool party at Rev. Bill Frisbie’s House, a Methodist Scavenger Hunt, and an East Austin Black History Walk.

In this season, while we are actively looking for the next right youth director, we know that our youth are in extremely capable hands and are so appreciative for Natasha and all those who have and will step in to help. As always, if you have questions please reach out to Pastor Teresa or Megan Otto.

Parking on Sundays

There is a lot happening in the life of our church and Sunday mornings have been bustling. We want to remind everyone that the platinum parking lot is available and we validate parking on Sunday mornings for the San Antonio Garage. There is limited parking available in the church parking lot on 25th, and, when possible, we like to reserve that lot for those who might have some difficulty with the extra walking. If you are safely able to park in the platinum lot or San Antonio Garage, please consider doing so and leaving the closer spots open for our friends with limited mobility.

Special Offering: Habitat for Humanity

We’re continuing to raise funds for our upcoming Habitat for Humanity Build with University Presbyterian. As a partnering church, we are contributing $5,000 to the project and the special offering will help us raise the necessary funds. We’ll be building October 14 & November 4. Click here to sign up and join the build!

Children’s Sunday School

For the month of August, children will continue to meet Jillian in the chapel at 10 am! We’ll start Sunday School classes in September. Parents are invited to visit the first floor bulletin board while they’re in the children’s wing. Jillian has feedback forms, calendars, and more! We’re looking forward to hearing what you want from your children’s ministry.
