Scripture: I Corinthians 13:1-13a
Join us for worship as we continue our Stewardship Season’s worship theme “People of Possibility and the sermon text is the great love passage from I Corinthians 13. We will also celebrate Holy Communion on this World Communion Sunday.
Observed on the first Sunday in October, this day calls the Church to be the universal, inclusive Church. The day was first observed by Presbyterians in 1936, adopted by the Federal Council of Churches in 1940, and shortly thereafter observed in Methodist and Evangelical United Brethren churches.
We will also join other United Methodists in collecting a special altar rail offering for United Methodist Committee on Relief to assist in recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. Simply leave a cash donation at the altar rail or write your check payable to UUMC with “UMCOR” in the memo section. You can read more about the Altar Rail Offering below.
We also celebrate the baptism of Theo Gallardo this day, son of new members Ángel Gallardo and Kendrea Tannis. Our Stewardship speaker is Michael Hobson. Michael and Katie Hobson are members of the Gardeners young adult Sunday School class and can often be found sharing their musical gifts in worship. They have a two year old named John and Katie is a member of the Finance Committee.
