Greetings, Youth Families: I’m guessing you all are bracing yourselves for a crazy May, so I’m not going to overload your calendar. That said, I love to spend time with our wonderful youth, and they are a friendly bunch. If your Middle Schooler or High Schooler is able to join us at any of the events below, please send them our way, and we will show them some love. We’ll play and then head to dinner. Pick up at UUMC at 8:00. The cost is $25/youth for dinner and the game (Venmo Natasha @Natasha-Ulack). Sunday, 5/19, 12:00 pm-2:30 pm Picnic, Park Clean Up & Swim Youth and Tweens will join forces to clean up a park on the east side of Austin, followed by swimming in the Jones’s pool. Please bring your lunch, water bottle, swimsuit, and towel. Special Events Friday, 5/10 7:00-9:00 Parent Happy Hour f.k.a. Mom’s Night Out Join Jillian and Natasha in the Ulack Backyard (north central Austin) for easy socializing and catching up without kids. Drinks and light appetizers are provided. Sign Up Here Summer Registration Saturday, 5/25- Monday, 5/27 10:00 am-6:00pm Sex Education for 13-15 yr olds All current 7th-9th graders are welcome to join Kelly Edwards & Natasha Ulack for a 3-day sex education boot camp at UUMC. We’ll eat lunch on the drag and cover all the important details not covered in the AISD curriculum. Sign Up Here Tuesday, 5/28- Friday, 5/31 10:00 am-3:00pm VCC Service Camp Spend your first week of summer helping Jillian, Natasha, and Chad build a “city” for this year’s VCC. We’ll be painting, gluing, building, cutting & much more. Bring your lunch. Come one day or all days. We need all the help we can get. Sign Up Here Monday, 6/3- Friday, 6/7 9:00 am-4:00pm VCC Volunteer Leaders & Youth Adventures Remember your time as a VCC kid? Now is your chance to be one of the leaders you admired during the week. You will be assigned as a group assistant or activity assistant for VCC from 9-12:30, and then we’ll head out for our own youth adventures in the afternoon. Volunteer Here Saturday, 7/6- Sunday, 7/14 “Be the Neighbor” Mission Trip to St. Louis Youth in 8th-12th grade are welcome to join us for our "Be the Neighbor" mission trip in St. Louis, where we will learn about race & reconciliation. The focus will be on the Delmar Divide and how it is both a real division in the city and a symbol of racism. We will learn about its effects on the lives of a community and individuals. Register Now Monday, 7/22-Friday, 7/26, 9:00-3:00 “Level Up” Camp This camp is made for UUMC’s rising tweens (4th and 5th) and Embers (6th and 7th) to build community & have fun. Please take a look here to see what we have planned. The cost is $160/kiddo for the week, which includes snacks, lunch, and all adventures. Register ASAP as we only have space for 12-20 Participants. Register Now Tuesday, 8/13 & Wednesday 8/14, 10:00 pm- 6:00 pm Confirmation Kick-Off Retreat   All rising 8th graders and older are welcome to be a part of the UUMC 2024-25 Confirmation class. We’ll Kick-Off with a two-day “retreat” at Bill Frisbie’s House in Hyde Park. Sign up on the attendance form and mark your calendars.
