Of course!  And our former micro-loans recipient, T-Loc’s, will be back with their famous Sonoran Hotdogs and taco bar!  Bust out your Halloween costumes and rain boots, and join us this Sunday for our Annual Intergenerational Fall Festival! Commitment to Giving Sunday October 29 | 11 am We will celebrate our Commitment to Giving this Sunday during worship as part of our 2023 Stewardship Campaign!  Join us after church in Fellowship Hall for a Stewardship lunch from T-Loc’s. Unlearning White Supremacy October 29 | 9:45 am Racial Justice Taskforce presents Unlearning White Supremacy class as a 5th Sunday joint Sunday school class this month. Please come and join this meaningful opportunity to learn more about the deeply rooted White Supremacy in our society and have a conversation about the ways we can make changes. Worship | Sunday  @ 11:00 am Online or In-Person Join us for worship as we celebrate Commitment to Giving Sunday. We will give thanks for all God has accomplished in and through and among us here at UUMC over the last year and we will look to the coming year with hope and excitement. Pastor Teresa will be preaching from the book of Romans and the choral anthem is Mark Miller’s “God Still Has Work For Us To Do.” If you have not already returned your commitment to giving pledge card, this is the Sunday to do so! Extra pledge cards will be available in the narthex. Many thanks to the over 25 members and friends who have already returned their cards! Premie Ministry During Advent, we’ll bless baby blankets and share them with local hospitals. We invite all knitters, crocheters or seamsters in our congregation to participate! Blankets, burial gowns, booties, and hats are welcome (the softer the material, the better). While projects of all sizes are welcome, there is a need for preemie-sized pieces.  Finished works can be dropped off at any time. To be included in this year’s blessing, bring them by December 17! If you have any questions about the blankets, you can contact Jillian, and for questions about drop-offs contact Renee!  Open Door - Books & Magazines Needed! UUMC’s new Saturday morning library has been so popular that we are out of material. Do you have books or magazines to share with the unhoused neighbors who visit Open Door and Fig Leaf? Consider donating them! Our guests enjoy popular fiction, nonfiction, general-interest magazines, and religious publications, in English and Spanish. We also see demand for children’s books. Please refrain from offering textbooks, academic or professional journals, or anything you wouldn't consider reading yourself. Boxes of books and magazines may be left in the first-floor elevator lobby, near the bins for clothing donations. Thank you! UUMC Speaks about Public Schools On Sunday, October 15, Diane Ireson, a longtime UUMC Member, spoke about the Texas School Voucher Issue during Worship. Now, you can watch a recording of her informative speech on our YouTube Channel. Watch the Video Charge Conference Charge Conference is an annual meeting with the District Superintendent for the purpose of approving important administrative reports. Our DS Rev. Dr. Marcus Freeman has set the group Charge Conference with other area UMCs for Sunday, November 12 at 4 pm at Northwest Hills UMC in Austin. This newer model adopted in recent years means that we will arrive with all our required administrative reports ready to submit and approved at the previous Church Council meeting to be held on November 9. As well, there will be a Charge Conference during the November 9 Church Council meeting for the sole agenda item of acting on Elizabeth Hoffman's candidacy. All are welcome to attend and church council members have voice and vote.
